Hillis Watches Practice

BEREA - Browns running Peyton Hillis was an observer at practice Tuesday because of back stiffness.

Coach Pat Shurmur not seem concerned about the damage, but it is unlikely that Hillis will play Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Probably could play if it were a regular season game.

Hillis health becomes an issue at the end of last season, when he was down to wear to be a physical runner. He missed time recently with a thigh injury that forced him to miss Friday's game against the Detroit Lions.

Hillis injury "will not affect the amount of playing time given to Montaria Hardety against the Eagles. Hardesty should get time with the first offense, will play the first half.

Screen a large number is most important to Hardesty. The injury-plagued back just pass the game without suffering further setbacks.

A highlight was the practice of intercepting a pass from Colt McCoy by cornerback Sheldon Brown. McCoy receiver Brian Robiskie was the target near the goal line.

Tight end Evan Moore returned to practice Tuesday after suffering a concussion against the Lions. Moore said the injjury was minor. He could play against the Eagles.
